Via Sign Language Sector Cooperative is a company offering sign language interpreting, teaching and booking services in the sign language sector throughout Finland.
Kairo has designed Via’s current visual identity and maintains the company’s visual communication. In autumn 2006 Via published their website in four languages: Finnish, Swedish, English and Finnish sign language. The web page in Finnish sign language, designed and produced by Kairo, was a nominee for the best business-to-consumer service at Grand One, the biggest new media competition in Finland.
Finnish sign language is an independent language differing structurally from spoken and written Finnish. Via’s web pages have a groundbreaking interface completely in sign language (only the contact information is visible in text). In the feedback section it is possible to leave a comment for the company signing, using a web camera.
